Board hears IVVC and S.E.F. updates; superintendent schedules finance committee meeting

Board Member Norm Johnson reported Oct. 21 that sophomore visits to IVVC would take place over the next several months, framing has begun on the building trades house, and an expansion to the Aviation program is being considered. He also said an increase in substitute pay had been approved and remaining open positions have been filled. Superintendent Jay Streicher will serve as IVVC chairperson for the 2025–2026 school year and duties will rotate yearly in alphabetical order.
Superintendent Streicher also reported that Mini-Grants have been received by the Somonauk Educational Foundation (S.E.F.) and will be reviewed at the next S.E.F. meeting. He asked board members to review Joint Annual Conference events and said he would hold a Finance Committee meeting soon to discuss the upcoming tax levy.
