Selectboard holds $68,000 in paving fund pending coordination with Swanton on Sweet Hollow resurfacing

With $68,000 remaining in the paving fund, the Selectboard asked the Town Administrator to check whether neighboring Swanton will pave their portion of Sweet Hollow this summer and to report back before deciding whether to use the money on Sweet Hollow or continue work on North Road.
The Selectboard reviewed that the awarded paving contract left $68,000 in the town’s paving fund and discussed options for using the remaining money. Town Administrator Cathy Ainsworth said she needed to finalize the Whitcomb contract; Melissa Manson proposed using some of the remaining funds to pave the rough portion of Sweet Hollow if Swanton paves their section this summer.
The board agreed Cathy should check with the Town of Swanton about their paving plans and contractor and report back. Brian Dubie moved that Cathy check with Swanton and then decide how best to use the remaining $68K; Damian Branon seconded and the motion passed unanimously. No final allocation of the $68,000 was made at the meeting.
