The Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432 Board of Education voted unanimously on Oct. 9 to appoint Justin Snider as superintendent for a three-year contract starting July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2029. Mike Short, a board member, made the motion and Erik Wold seconded. "I move that the Board of Education appoint Justin Snider as the Superintendent of Somonauk CUSD #432 for a three (3) year term, commencing on July 1, 2026, and concluding on June 30, 2029," the motion states.
The motion also authorized the board president to execute the employment contract on behalf of the board. The board recorded the vote as unanimous: Nick Deacon, Ashley Harper, Norm Johnson, Mike Short and Erik Wold each voted "Yea." The appointment followed a closed-session personnel discussion held under the authority of 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), the Illinois Open Meetings Act provision permitting closed deliberation about specific employees.
