Fire chief: new air packs are in service; ladder truck replacement still needed

Evans said the department is now looking at options for replacing the ladder truck. President Richard Samples said Jacksonville (the city) may sell an older ladder truck for between $300,000 and $400,000, but Chief Evans cautioned some lower-cost options found so far are not reliable. The board requested staff continue to monitor available apparatus and report back with options and costs.
