President Richard Samples notified trustees the Village received a $5,000 tourism grant request from Susan Weller for the Jacksonville Symphony to support a Bicentennial Concert during July 4th festivities.
Trustees agreed to hear Ms. Weller at the next board meeting to provide more details; Trustee J.W. Coleman suggested tabling formal consideration until her presentation. No award or commitment was made on Feb. 20. The request was added to the agenda for the next regular meeting so trustees can evaluate logistics, budget impact and how the concert would interact with other July 4 programming.
