South Chicago Heights trustees approve lead-line replacement, stormwater engineering, senior-center lease and property-sale amendment

At their April 20 regular meeting, the South Chicago Heights Board of Trustees unanimously approved multiple measures affecting infrastructure, stormwater engineering and municipal property.
Trustees voted 6–0 to accept the lowest responsible bid from Airy's Inc. for a lead service line replacement project under Resolution 2026-R-15; Trustee Eric Stanton moved approval and Trustee Rose Ann Diederich seconded. The board also approved Resolution 2026-R-16, authorizing Baxter & Woodman Consulting Engineers to provide engineering services related to the municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4). Both measures carried on roll-call votes with all six trustees voting aye.
Mayor Terry Matthews presented Resolution 2026-R-17 to authorize a commercial lease with the Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association for the South Chicago Heights Senior Center; Matthews said the lease "is the same as last year." Trustee Rose Ann Diederich moved approval and Trustee Eric Stanton seconded; the motion passed 6–0.
The board also approved Ordinance 2026-ORD-11, a first amendment to the purchase-and-sale agreement with Richton Hills LLC for the property commonly known as 400 East Sauk Trail. Trustee John Ross moved approval and Trustee Eric Stanton seconded; the roll-call vote was unanimous.
None of the measures generated extended debate in the record. All four formal actions were recorded as approved by the six trustees present (Ross, Bosco, Marrufo, Stanton, Crudup and Diederich).
