The Dubuque Zoning Advisory Commission on Aug. 5 made three formal recommendations to City Council:
• Villas on Valeria final plat — Commission recommended approval subject to waivers (Lot 2 street frontage; Lots 3 and 4 lot‑area waivers) and contingent on the purchase of a small city‑owned parcel. Staff indicated the purchase/disposal steps begin with council consideration on Aug. 17 and include a Sept. 21 public hearing for disposal.
• Wacker Plaza PUD amendment — Commission approved forwarding an amendment to allow a drive‑up ATM at Building C, consolidate prior signage language, and adopt a parking minimum calculated at roughly 1 space per 250 sq. ft. (staff estimated about 218 spaces required); the item will go to council on Aug. 17.
• 10956 White Top Road (Swiss Valley Estates) minor subdivision — Commission recommended approval of a three‑lot minor subdivision and waived street‑frontage for Lots 1 and 2; staff reported no public comment and will forward the recommendation to council for Aug. 17 consideration.
All three motions passed at the Aug. 5 meeting and will be transmitted to City Council for final action. The commission's recommendations are advisory; final approvals, ordinance language and any property disposals will be decided by council.
