The Oakley Planning Commission voted to approve a plat amendment for Elkhorn Ranches Subdivision Lot 2 that adds building envelope area to accommodate an indoor personal recreation structure. Staff told the commission that owners in Elkhorn Ranches provided unanimous consent for the change and that the site is within the FEMA floodplain, so any new building must meet FEMA elevation rules.
Staff noted the amendment only changes the recorded envelope to include the new footprint; the detailed building review will occur with the separate conditional use/building permit process. A neighbor who spoke during the public hearing said they were generally comfortable but asked the commission to limit future use so the structure would not operate as an event center or short-term rental. The commission approved the plat amendment by roll call.
