Parish to assist Plain Dealing with tornado debris removal under 30-day agreement

Bossier Parish jurors voted July 1 to enter a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Town of Plain Dealing to assist with debris removal following an EF-1 tornado.
"The weather event left significant debris and [the Town] requested assistance with debris removal," Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward said while presenting photographs of the damage. He estimated approximately $10,000 for parish crews to load debris from Town right-of-ways and deliver it to a disposal site within Plain Dealing. The jury authorized the Parish Administrator/Parish President to execute any documents necessary to provide assistance and temporary right-of-way access for 30 days.
The agreement covers operational support for debris loading and hauling by parish crews; jurors approved the measure unanimously.
