"The proposed ordinance amends the Bossier Parish Code of Ordinances to require sidewalks within Metropolitan Planning Commission areas in accordance with Metropolitan Planning Commission requirements," Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward told jurors during the public hearing. The adopted text clarifies sidewalk widths and includes language requiring handicap ramps at intersections to meet ADA standards.
Jurors offered no public comment during the hearing and approved the ordinance by voice vote. The ordinance updates street-construction and subdivision provisions, cross-references LADOTD construction standards, and includes customary site-preparation and maintenance-bond requirements for developers.
