County accepts donated Wells Fargo building, officials say it will help consolidate services

The county commission on June 2 approved acceptance of a donated Wells Fargo building from RML Rentals LLC. Motion by Commissioner Paul Smith, seconded by Commissioner Steve Gates, carried 5-0. County Attorney Morgan Smith said earlier contract language concerns had been removed.
CEO Bill Everett said county employees welcomed the space and described multiple operational benefits, including improved public access and an opportunity to consolidate departments. He called the donation unusually generous: "This is the most generous thing anybody has handed this county since the old days of the Copper Kings so it's pretty damn cool," Everett said. The commission asked staff to advance needed fit-out work and report back on timelines and costs.
