Rose Nyman told the board the statue "is ready for transport" and is being stored in Butte; she said she "paid with the expectation of reimbursement." The motion to pay $500 for transport was made by Lynette Foulger, seconded by Terry LaValley, and passed 4-0 (Tammy Mattson was not present to vote). Board chair Bob Wren said Deer Lodge County staff would assist with hoisting the statue into position, a task the board described as critical.
Board members noted an alternate $300 transportation offer from Fred Boyer that Nyman had declined. The board did not alter the planned installation date during the meeting and asked members to coordinate logistics for the June 12 work.
The board recorded the motion in its minutes as a formal expenditure approval; members did not identify additional funding sources during the discussion.
