South Roxana discusses solicitor 'No Knock' list, community events and drainage concerns

Chief Bob Coles said the solicitor permits ordinance will include a "No Knock" list for residents who wish not to be solicited, and that residents can contact the Village Clerk to be added to that list. Coles also proposed purchasing backdrops and opening the Senior Center for students to take prom photos after recent bad weather.
Terrah Bevolo presented a Rec Committee calendar of community events (April 29 Touch A Truck; May 7 Fun Fair; July 30 village pool party; Sept. 13 community yard sale; Oct. 21 tentative Halloween parade). Separately, Terry Chester raised drainage concerns and urged maintenance of ditches and culverts; Mayor Callahan proposed a community program to assist elderly or needy residents who request help through Village Hall, noting student volunteers cannot perform mowing due to insurance restrictions. Greg Adams encouraged residents to keep leaves out of ditches and reminded residents that burning is permitted April–September.
