Newport resident urges speed cameras, speed bumps and enforcement on Pedlow Avenue

“We already seen accidents on Broadway and close to bed low, and we shouldn't have to wait for another 1 before action is taken,” Perez Gimenez said, and offered to provide video recordings to show the problem. She also asked for an update on traffic calming measures the council previously approved for Bridal Caboose/Broadway bike‑lane discussions, saying she had seen no implementation since last fall.
Council members acknowledged the concern and said staff will follow up; one councilor thanked the resident for offering to bring additional evidence. The council did not take immediate formal action during the meeting but directed staff to discuss next steps with the relevant departments and consider enforcement or engineering responses.
