The board reviewed and approved the results of the district capital project vote. The clerk initially read the Proposition 1 figure incorrectly; the superintendent moved to correct Proposition 1 to $19,300,000 and the motion to amend the minutes/results was seconded and carried. The corrected tally reported in meeting discussion was 352 yes and 172 no for Proposition 1; Proposition 2 did not pass.
Board members expressed disappointment over the failure of some components of the project. One board member said, "I'm, a little disappointed, and I'm just gonna leave it at that," after the recounting of the vote results. The superintendent clarified that $30,000,000 represented the totality of the project but that Proposition 1 reflects a $19,300,000 component; planning and design work for approved items is expected to begin in early 2025.
The board also approved related maintenance and facility items on the agenda, and discussed the timing of roof replacements tied to state aid rules (noting most aid applies when a roof is out of warranty). The superintendent said the district had addressed the specific leak that had closed the elementary auditorium and announced, "Eden Elementary Auditorium has been reopened for use."
