The North Saint Paul Arts & Culture Commission voted to authorize up to $1,000 from its commission budget to buy four feather flags and related branding materials for the art cart.
During the public art project subcommittee update, Eliza Verma described options to draw attention to the art cart, including feather flags and a possible wrap. Jordan Layman confirmed the branding-and-communications line has funds available and suggested pre-approval so items could be ordered before the next meeting. Chair moved to "use up to 1000 dollars out of the commission's budget to proceed with the 4 signs as Laura has laid out here," and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Commissioners discussed sizing, installation options (weighted bases vs. nchors on grass), and the potential for a wrap in future seasons. The group agreed Laura/Eliza will work with designer Lisa Ritchie on final layered artwork and that Jordan will manage purchase logistics once the design is finalized. The commission asked staff to email proofs to commissioners for final approval rather than waiting for the next meeting.
