Selectboard approves shift from stickers to dashboard cards for transfer station

The Shapleigh Selectboard voted to adopt a revised transfer-station access policy that replaces the annual adhesive sticker with a laminated card to be displayed on vehicle dashboards. Michelle (Speaker 3) described the change as a convenience for attendants to verify access: one card per property, with replacement cards issued for a $50 fee. "...1 card per year per property, not stickers," Michelle said while explaining the proposal.
Board members discussed rotating card colors each year to help attendants spot expired credentials and options for issuing cards in January or during high-traffic months (May–July) for summer residents. Committee member (Speaker 5) moved to accept the policy; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
