The West Chicago Finance Committee voted to recommend that the City Council accept the city's 2025 annual comprehensive financial report after a presentation by auditors from Lauterbach and Amen. The committee called the motion, Alderman Meyer seconded, and all present aldermen voted in favor.
Riley Martin, audit principal with Lauterbach and Amen, told the committee that the independent auditors'opinion "the financial statements referred to above present fairly in all material respects" for the year ended 12/31/2025, describing that result as an unmodified (clean) opinion. Committee members had no management-letter comments requiring formal corrective action, and the auditors said sample testing of cash receipts, disbursements, payroll and credit-card transactions did not reveal control failures.
The committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the full City Council for final acceptance. Staff said members who want additional detail can follow up with the auditors or city finance staff for supporting schedules and footnote detail.
