Adrian Fuqua, introduced by the chair as a board intern, told the board his internship had been "the best work experience" of his life and appealed directly to trustees: "I ask that you keep your children in mind," urging members to prioritize student experience in policymaking. Amadi Vyfos, who identified himself as an IRR teacher at Riverdale Middle School, said he was glad to attend his first board meeting.
In public comment, a resident introduced as Brenda Harris urged the board to move past rumor and consider making interim superintendent Douglas Hendricks permanent, saying the interim has "served with us in education for 30 years." The chair acknowledged the concern and said board members were discussing the superintendent process internally and would continue to work through next steps.
The board did not take a formal vote on the superintendent's status at this meeting.
