Laurie Gregory told the board the district had launched Varsity Tutors, a 24/7 text-based tutoring service that students can access through the school portal. "So that program is available 24/7," she said, adding that accounts were created only after collecting parent permission; she reported 14 students currently using it. A technical walkthrough showed how students sign in through the Clever portal, pick language and subject, and are matched to a tutor for on-demand chat sessions.
District technology staff said they completed a three-year hardware replacement cycle for GLP iPads and that the timing was fortunate because a vendor update stopped supporting the older kindergarten iPad version. The staff demonstrated Clever QR sign-on for kindergarten through second grade, which staff said significantly reduced login time during class transitions.
