Board approves multiple resignations and hires, thanks long-serving maintenance mechanic

The Eden Central School District board on Aug. 14 accepted the resignation for retirement of maintenance mechanic Mark Gage, effective Aug. 14, 2024, and extended its thanks for his 36 years with the district. Clerk (speaker 1) read the motion that the board accept the resignation; the motion was seconded and carried.
The board also approved the resignations and appointments of instructional and support staff. The board accepted the resignation of special education teacher Michelle Lindner, effective Aug. 13, 2024, and appointed Rachel Monet to a probationary special education tenure-area position (09/01/2024–08/31/2027), Madison Woodard to a probationary special education appointment (09/01/2024–08/31/2028), Julian Smigelski as a 1.0 FTE teacher aide (09/05/2024–03/04/2025), Francesca Turley McDonough as a summer school teacher aide and probationary teacher aide, Tina Seltz as a probationary teacher aide (09/05/2024–03/04/2025), and Laura Hussman as a cafeteria monitor on probation beginning Sept. 5. The clerk noted tenure conditions tied to performance review ratings and cited the applicable education law provisions read into the motions.
