Board gives favorable advisory opinion for Pitney Meadows interpretive panels

Brooke McConnell of Pitney Meadows described a grant-funded phase of interpretive signage for the Pitney Farm PUD at 223 West Avenue. The project’s first design phase proposes 14 perimeter-trail panels plus two signs in the community garden (about 16 signs total) intended to convey site history, native plants and animals, conservation practices, and the brook-trout restoration partnership with State Parks.
McConnell said the signs will be fabricated in aluminum on four-inch aluminum posts, use ADA‑compliant color and font choices for interpretive panels, and were developed in collaboration with the land trust that holds the property’s conservation easement. The DRB issued a favorable advisory opinion, noting the mock‑up and site review did not indicate adverse impacts to the view shed and the materials and installation approach were acceptable.
