The board approved the CHS course addition for a Medication Aide (Med Aide) course, passed on a motion recorded in the consent agenda. The board packet and subsequent discussion described course prerequisites (students must be 18 at the time of testing through Central Community College and must hold CNA certification), fees (CHS students may take the course for $54 for CCC registration where dual credit applies) and scheduling (second semester offering).
Separately, CHS Principal Dave Hiebner reviewed a few changes to the CHS Course Handbook for 2026-27 that were included in the packet. The CHS Course Description Book included details about dual-credit options (Central Community College and Nebraska Wesleyan) and updated course listings including the new Med Aide/Medication Aide pathway.
Provenance: motion recorded in consent agenda and CHS Course Handbook attachment in packet.
