Board reviews annexation letter for Redwood Valley; no formal response planned

The Mendocino County Board of Education reviewed a letter addressed to the board from the Mendocino County Russian River Flood Control and Water Conservation Improvement District about an annexation involving Redwood Valley Community Water District. Chair called the correspondence to the board’s attention and said the district’s letter was on the agenda for discussion but does not affect MCOE properties.
“It's a letter that came to the Mendocino County Office of Education. It does not impact us as an agency, but it was addressed to you as a board,” said Nicole Glens, superintendent support staff. Trustees discussed options and several members said the board could choose to take no action. No motion to respond was made and the board did not take a formal position at the Nov. 10 meeting.
