"We've been through this before, and not only does it save us money, but I kind of like the process," one trustee said in support of the appointment path. Trustees discussed interview logistics and documents (interview questions and a resolution) and then moved and seconded the recommendation; a voice vote recorded multiple 'aye' responses and the motion was approved.
Staff will post the application and hold interviews per the approved timeline; the board noted that appointments are within its discretion and that the process imposes minimal direct fiscal cost compared with a special election.
