He reported that districtwide English language arts performance averaged 13.7 points above standard — a 4.5-point gain from the previous year — while mathematics averaged 9.2 points below standard, which lowered the district’s math indicator to yellow.
Fairchild highlighted subgroup disparities: Students with Disabilities, English Learners, and Long‑Term English Learners remain rated in the orange or red bands for some indicators. English Learner progress declined to 48.9% of EL students moving up at least one ELPAC level (an 8.9 percentage‑point drop from 2023). Chronic absenteeism improved to 12.7% (an 8.1 percentage‑point improvement, which the presentation equated to about 510 of 6,300 students attending more frequently).
