Planner Dusty presented a rezoning request filed for a parcel at the southeast corner of County Road B and Highway 23 in the Town of Del Prairie and said the town's July meeting did not object. Dusty read correspondence from nearby residents and a DOT response saying there were no concerns.
Agent Tory Wolfram told the committee the parcel is about 2.68 acres and not well suited to residential use given the busy intersection; he said a prospective buyer has the property under contract contingent on the rezone so they can locate a business there. "So that's where we're at at this moment," Wolfram said. With no public opposition, the committee voted to approve the rezoning recommendation and will forward it to the full county board for consideration on Aug. 18 at 6 p.m.
