Alvarado ISD recognizes teachers, names new campus officer and spotlights athletics

Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Estes led recognition of educators and staff during the Oct. 7, 2024 Alvarado ISD board meeting. The minutes record that Kali Curry was recognized as an AJH educator and that administrators received appreciation: "Principal & Assistant Principal Appreciation" and "Human Resources Department Appreciation." The pledge was led by College Board Honorees and the invocation by Vice President Perry Burnett.
Sergeant Anibal Vega introduced new AISD officer Juan Munoz. Dr. Estes also asked Chief Academic Officer Dr. Maribel Diaz to explain light-blue ribbons placed across campuses in recognition of World Teacher’s Day, and noted that the girls cross country team advanced to regionals while AHS football received national recognition. No disciplinary or policy actions were proposed in association with these recognitions; they were presented as ceremonial and informational items in SEG 009 and SEG 011.
