Mesquite ISD introduces new principals and district administrators
Summary
Trustees heard introductions of new administrators including McKenzie Elementary principal Liz Felton, assistant director of transportation Eben Cobb, coordinators Summer Futrell and Chase Holland, communications hire Michael Sherrill, and several assistant principals.
Superintendent Dr. Rivera and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Janine Fields introduced several new administrators to the board and community. Janine Fields presented Liz Felton as the new principal at McKenzie Elementary and summarized Felton’s 20 years of service in Mesquite ISD.
Sabrina Smith read additional administrative hires: assistant director of transportation Eben Cobb; secondary reading and language arts coordinator Summer Futrell; coordinator of instructional content Chase Holland; communications/content marketing coordinator Michael (Mike) Sherrill; and assistant principals Juan Barajas (North Mesquite), Anthony Staton (Horn High School) and Carolyn Daugherty (Canaday Elementary). Trustees welcomed each appointee and invited them to meet staff and take headshots before leaving.
"Liz Felton has dedicated 20 years to education, all in Mesquite ISD," Dr. Janine Fields said when introducing the new McKenzie principal. The board congratulated the new hires and scheduled a brief recess for photos.
