Board approves MOUs, legal retainer and several contracts; O'Hanlon legal services item tabled
Summary
Trustees approved the Bell County JJAEP MOU, an interlocal SRO agreement with Little River Academy, renewal of a Walsh Gallegos retainer and consent for multi-party representation, donations from the Athletic Booster Club, T-TESS appraisers list, and a Kirbo's Office Systems contract. A separate legal-services agreement with O'Hanlon was tabled.
The board approved multiple agreements and contracts at the Aug. 28 meeting. Trustees approved the Bell County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) MOU and an interlocal agreement with Little River Academy regarding a School Resource Officer at BCAS. Both motions passed unanimously.
The board also renewed membership in the Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & Roalson P.C. retainer program and approved consent for that firm to represent multiple parties on matters related to the Bell County Alternative School. Donations from the AISD Athletic Booster Club, the T-TESS Certified List of Appraisers for 2024–2025, and a Kirbo's Office Systems contract were also approved. Separately, the proposed Legal Services Agreement with O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo for representation in an A–F performance ratings lawsuit was discussed and tabled pending further details about participating districts and cost-sharing.
