Parkinson said the start of the local-income-tax reallocation was delayed from 2028 to 2029, a change he described as "a critical factor" for Johnson County school districts including Indian Creek. He told the board the district’s certified shares add up to a bit over $400,000 and said that reallocation will materially change what revenue is available to operations funds beginning in 2029.
He urged that local representatives be informed of the district’s exposure and described the timing change as one of the reasons the district should continue conservative budgeting in the short term while planning for a notable revenue realignment in the medium term.
