Abernathy ISD honors students and staff for academic, character and athletic achievements

Principals and the athletic director recognized students across elementary, middle and high school campuses and honored staff for leadership and instructional excellence at the April 13 board meeting.
Multiple students and staff were recognized during the April 13 board meeting for academic achievement, character and extracurricular success. Elementary Principal Joanna Fullingim named Heath Barton, Jaycee Barker and Olivia Wickenden as AES "Shining Leaders." Middle School Principal Ollie Hart honored Kyson Keller, Luis Trejo and Mary Bradley for character and academic excellence. High School Principal Tate Albright recognized Micah Cortez, Ryleigh Luera, Cat Gonzales, Tatum Bailey, Emma Revilla, Wyatt Shaw and Jaylon Reyes for College Board National Distinction PSAT scores.
Athletic Director Coach Keith Bloskas recognized Lacy Bloskas and Emme Easterwood for THSCA Academic All-State Basketball honors and Anicela Trejo for THSCA Academic All-State Honorable Mention; Micah Cortez also was recognized for placing third at the THSPA State Powerlifting meet. Staff recognitions included Lely Lopez for Outstanding AES Campus Leadership, Tifanee Nail for excellence at AMS, and Minnie DeLeon and Kristi Callaway for dedication to One Act Play students.
