The Academy Independent School District Board of Trustees certified compliance with Senate Bill 12 and approved its full consent agenda at the July 22 regular meeting in Little River.
Board Member Kacee Nabours moved to approve the Senate Bill 12 annual certification of compliance; the motion was seconded by Bobby Poncik and passed by a 6–0 vote with Trustee Amy Adcock absent. President Alex Bass then called for approval of the remaining consent items, and the board approved the full consent agenda on a 6–0 vote. The meeting record notes: "Mr. Bass pulled item 5h for discussion and provided an opportunity for public testimony. No public testimony was given." The consent agenda included routine items such as budget amendments, the 2026–27 Code of Conduct, investment-policy review, TASB Policy Manual Update 127, and shared-service and dual-credit agreements.
The board’s recorded voting detail lists Alex Bass, Jennifer Burnett, Kacee Nabours, Bobby Poncik, Dana White and Tim Titsworth as voting "Yea" on both motions; Amy Adcock was noted as absent. The minutes show the approvals were procedural and carried unanimously among members present.
