The board received an update on the campus master plan and active construction at the Hilton Driveway.
Brian Kost reported "We're making very good progress" on the driveway, citing extensive earthwork, formation of the roundabout and installation of light‑pole bases. He said crews struck a fiber line over the weekend but that the contractor is working through the tie‑in and that the schedule is not expected to slip significantly.
Kost described a pending change order for the 'y' area near the pavilion to ease a curve and said the project team continues negotiating final prices; he also detailed a necessary electrical distribution panel replacement for the board office to provide breakers for the new light poles, with a planned power shut‑off and panel swap targeted for June 19.
Board members asked about sequencing and contingencies; Kost said minor allowance change orders ("a couple thousand dollars here, a couple thousand dollars there") are typical and that major items are being managed within the project's contingency. No formal board action on the construction items was taken at the meeting.
