Council appoints Santa del Sol PID board so developer can resume work

Attorney Jennica Jacoby of Rodey Law Firm explained that the Santa del Sol Public Improvement District, formed in 2018, languished during litigation and its initial appointed terms expired. She said state PID rules and the city's ordinance allow the council to reconstitute a five-member board with three developer-nominated members and two city staff appointees when no constituents live in the district, and asked the council to approve an initial slate so development can proceed.
The city manager added that the development cannot start until the PID board is in place and that the developer is ready to sell lots; council moved, seconded and approved the appointments unanimously to reconstitute the governing body and allow the PID to function.
