The Allen Independent School District Board of Trustees held a special meeting April 29 and entered a closed session to consult with its attorney and conduct interviews related to the district’s superintendent search, board President Dr. Polly Montgomery announced.
"At 5:11 P.M. board president, Dr. Polly Montgomery, announced the board would enter closed session under agenda item: 2," Montgomery said in the meeting record, which cites Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 and 551.074 as the legal basis for a private attorney consultation and personnel deliberations. The board entered executive session at 5:16 P.M.
The board adjourned its closed session at 7:19 P.M., reconvened at 7:23 P.M. and, according to the meeting record, "consider[ed] and take possible action regarding the Superintendent search." No action was taken. A short time later, Trustee Becca Kinnear moved to adjourn the special meeting; Trustee Amanda Campbell seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 7:24 P.M.
The meeting notice lists Dr. Polly Montgomery, Dr. Bill Parker, John Holley, Veronica Yost, Sarah Mitchell, Amanda Campbell and Becca Kinnear as members present. The meeting took place at the AISD Administration Building, 612 E. Bethany Drive, Allen.
