Board approves multiple administrative hires, including executive director of safety

The board approved a slate of administrative contracts and was introduced to the appointees after the superintendent presented them following trustee approval.
Assistant Superintendent Taylor Morris introduced Jeff Moore as the district's new Executive Director of Safety and Security. In his remarks Moore said, "This district, MISD, has welcomed me and I have been greatly encouraged by your overall kindness and acceptance," and he emphasized commitment to safety and ongoing planning for the 2025–26 school year. The board also welcomed April Sarpy as Executive Director of Administrative Services; Carisha Banks as Director of Special Education; and Christy Clay as Director of Payroll, among others. Clay described her 26 years of payroll experience and said she looked forward to "building strong relationships across departments" to improve payroll processes.
Trustees approved the employment/term contracts by motion (motion by Mr. Bingham; second by Ms. Hornsby) and a voice vote recorded the motion as passing seven-zero. Several appointees thanked the board and noted priorities including campus safety, administrative services, and special education capacity-building.
