Board approves consent agenda, amends SOP to three-year evaluation cycle

At the May 12 meeting the Mesquite ISD Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda after pulling item No. 3 for separate discussion. The motion to approve the consent agenda (with item 3 removed) was made by Mr. Rose and seconded by Mr. Carville; the chair called for voice votes and the motion passed unanimously.
The pulled item concerned updates to the board's standard operating procedures. Trustee Mr. Bingham moved to amend the section on board self-evaluation so that evaluations occur every three years instead of annually; Ms. Hornsby seconded the motion. After brief discussion the board approved the amendment and then approved the SOP with the amended evaluation interval. The chair announced the motion passed by voice vote.
