The Mesquite ISD Board of Trustees heard a recognition for the district mock-trial program on April 14, as coaches and students praised volunteer sponsor Megan David for her sustained work with students.
Jeffrey Blackwell introduced the students and described the team’s competitive history. A speaker noted the sponsor "has no connection to Mesquite ISD" but volunteers substantial time and financial support, driving an hour each way multiple times per week during competition season. Students described that support in personal terms; one student said, "Miss Megan David is the best mock trial coach in the world," and another added that she taught confidence, mentorship and pride.
Blackwell and the board thanked David for her contributions and paused for photos with the students. The presentation underscored the district’s extracurricular emphasis and the role of community volunteers in supporting competitive programs.
