President Justin Chapa opened the board’s workshop segment where Chief Academic Officer Dr. Steven Wurtz presented an overview of Arlington ISD’s specialized programs and options for academic growth.
Dr. Steven Wurtz described program growth, workforce alignment efforts and student outcome measures, and explained the district’s process for designing and evaluating specialized offerings. Board members and staff participated in a SWOT analysis focused on program strengths, growth areas, emerging workforce opportunities and development of virtual and hybrid learning options to expand student access and engagement. The workshop emphasized evaluation of student outcomes and alignment with local employer needs.
