Ryan Bartow (speaker 10) told trustees the facilities team has completed a break-room remodel and entry upgrades, installed a 30x40 shade structure at a preschool, and is finishing a CNA program remodel that includes new plumbing, HVAC work and dedicated instructional spaces.
Bartow said MCOE "was awarded a grant of $39,000 from the California Energy Commission for the installation of solar charge or electric vehicle chargers here for fleet use," describing an initial installation of six chargers and infrastructure sized for up to 15. He also outlined ongoing solar-array projects and work on structural design to support rooftop-mounted arrays and noted MCOE is pursuing a PG&E microgrid grant that could fund solar-plus-battery backup on PG&E's side of the meter.
Trustees discussed project schedules, roofing materials and the fiscal implications of replacing aging building systems; staff said grant funding is in place for some projects and they will seek additional outside funding for larger deployments.
