The Barbers Hill Independent School District Board of Trustees on June 1 approved the purchase of sixteen high‑usage network copiers at a cost of $184,898 and a five‑year software support renewal for Papercut totaling $28,630. Chelsea McDaniel, Director of Finance, presented the recommendation and said the proposed equipment and service would be procured under Sourcewell contract #112124‑SEC.
McDaniel told trustees that the vendor had "consistently demonstrated reliability, responsiveness, and a clear understanding of the District's needs. They have provided timely maintenance, excellent customer support, and ensured that copier equipment remains fully operational across all campuses and departments." The proposed service agreement will cover the newly acquired machines for three years and continue guaranteed service on existing machines with three or more years of service life through summer 2027. The board approved the motion to purchase and enter the service agreement on a motion by Trustee Benny May, seconded by Trustee Mark Wilson; the vote was 6–0–1 (George Barrera absent).
