Bells ISD board approves personnel actions including new hire, PJH assistant principal position and contract extensions

The Bells ISD Board convened an executive session under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Gov't Code, Art. 551.074) from 6:54 p.m. to 7:23 p.m. After reconvening, the board approved hiring Chelsey Scoggins on a one-year probationary contract for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion to hire Scoggins was made by Jeremy Moore and seconded by Lonnie Carter; minutes record the motion passed with seven votes.
The board also approved creation of an Assistant Principal position at Pritchard Junior High effective with the 2026–2027 school year (motion by Stephanie Nettles, second by E.T. Pettit, passed 7–0) and approved extension of contracts for elementary, junior high and high school professionals as recommended (motion by Jeremy Moore, second by Stephanie Nettles, passed 7–0). The minutes list that contract extensions were approved per lists provided to the board but do not publish the lists within the meeting minutes.
