District Counsel Tony Pires said his opinion regarding ownership of Corkscrew Road, west of U.S. 41, has not changed following recent document retrieval. The Village of Estero has engaged Johnson Engineering to inspect streets and related infrastructure to determine repair needs; PSGRC President Neil Collins provided an update on Town Hall discussions, which are focusing on the intersection of U.S. 41 and the east side of Corkscrew Road. Mr. Wilhems confirmed the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road as well.
Separately, Mr. Schultz reported the CDD will participate in Pelican Sound’s Safeguard Panel. The CDD will be involved in Objective 2 (safeguarding the community from natural-disaster impacts), with Mr. Merrill representing the district, and Objective 4 (improving street safety), with Mr. Twombly representing the district. Mr. Long said he will provide an update on the panel’s first meeting scheduled for December.
