Members noted a reference that still lists Amber Coolidge as director of district operations and requested that Michael Mangan's last name be corrected in the draft.
Members raised objections to newly added language limiting student participation in MMBA and PSEO programs, calling that language "too harsh" and urging further review. One parent-board member said the PSEO change would be "unfair" to students who travel or take concurrent enrollment courses. The board directed administrators to prepare corrected copies and to consider a special meeting before school starts so families receive the final handbooks in advance of back-to-school events.
The board and staff agreed administrators will circulate revised drafts in advance and that a special meeting will be scheduled to obtain final approval for the high-school handbook. The board did not adopt the high-school handbook as presented during this meeting; staff will return corrected documents for formal adoption.
