Superintendent: district headed to D.C. for Blue Ribbon; two new buses arrive, activities update

Superintendent Jon Hartgraves told the board the district will travel to Washington, D.C., to receive a Blue Ribbon recognition. He also reported two new buses are now on campus and that facilities planning is scheduled to begin Nov. 5.
Staff reports included Amy Huseman’s update that the district has partnered with a local museum to enrich curriculum and that UIL practice and strong parent participation are underway. Principal Jamie Krenek reported the band “earned a 2” in competition and that drug‑free week and a campus improvement team initiative were completed successfully. Athletic Director Bradan Ritchey said the high‑school football and volleyball playoff picture remained unclear at the time of the meeting.
