Alvarado ISD trustees open meeting with presentations, approve expenditures and set calendar

At the Aug. 19 meeting the board approved expenditures, heard operations and instructional reports, recognized staff, and set upcoming meeting dates before adjourning at 8:44 p.m.
The Alvarado ISD Board opened a public hearing on the budget then called the regular meeting to order on Aug. 19. After the Pledge and an invocation led by Board Member Michael Pulaski, the board recognized a newly presented officer (Mr. Kenneth Hopkins) and named educator Heather Hyatt for recognition.
The board approved expenditures on a motion by Perry Burnett and a second by Jeff Taylor, with all members voting "aye." Assistant Superintendent of Operations Mark Ratcliff, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Maribel Diaz and Chief Finance Officer Rodney Toon delivered reports. Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Estes thanked operations staff and educators "for helping in getting the school year started," adding, "We are appreciative of everyone's efforts." The board set its next meeting for Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m., with a workshop beforehand, and adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
