Camden County presents inaugural Popular Annual Financial Report, wins GFOA recognition

"My name is Stephanie Chang. I'm the senior accountant here at Camden County Board of Commissioners," she said as she introduced the report and explained the county’s two‑year effort to produce it.
GFOA PAFR fellow Natalie Antonor, who assisted with research and design, described the report as a way to help residents follow trends year to year. "It was really beautiful learning about Camden's history," Antonor said, noting the PAFR links to the county’s comprehensive financial reports for readers seeking full audit detail. Chang told commissioners the report includes summaries of revenues, operating and capital expenses, and a change‑in‑fund‑balance explanation; paper copies are on the table outside the chamber and the web version is hyperlinked for easier navigation. The presenters also announced that Camden’s PAFR received GFOA recognition, noting the county is among a small number of Georgia localities to earn the award.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the statistics cited in the report; a resident read a Bureau of Economic Analysis figure aloud for the record about total personal income trends. The board thanked the presenters and accepted the report as presented; the presenters offered to pose for a plaque photo following the meeting.
