Alvarado ISD board approves gym procurement steps, Nearpod and Renaissance renewals

The Alvarado ISD Board on Aug. 19 delegated authority to the superintendent to negotiate and execute a contract for Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Services for the AHS Competition Gym and approved the selection criteria and weighted values for that procurement. The motions were made by Jeff Taylor and Clifton McDaniel, respectively, and passed unanimously.
Separately, trustees approved a one-year districtwide Nearpod subscription at $39,847 and renewed Renaissance products for 2024–25 at a total cost of $154,504.26. The minutes state funding for the Renaissance renewal will come from the Instructional Materials Allotment (IMA), Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Title I funds and campus funds. Both motions passed with all members voting "aye."
