Board adopts 2024–25 budget, amends 2023–24 budget

The Alvarado ISD Board unanimously approved an amendment to the 2023–24 budget and adopted the 2024–25 budget as presented during its Aug. 19 meeting. Hector Velazquez moved to amend the 2023–24 budget to reflect district expenditures; Jeff Taylor seconded. Clifton McDaniel moved to adopt the 2024–25 budget "as presented;" Jeff Taylor seconded and both motions passed with all members voting "aye."
Those actions were taken alongside other fiscal items, including the tax-rate ordinance and a decision to call a tax ratification election. Board members and district finance staff — including Chief Finance Officer Rodney Toon — were recorded as presenting financial reports earlier in the meeting.
